We very much enjoyed our night stay at The Kona Kai Motel. With electronic for locks, we were sent a code for entering the room (like a boutique motel) - effortless! It was extremely quite with only 2-3 other rooms occupied the night we stayed as it was low season, but the rooms in the three buildings are spread out, so I believe it would be comfortable even when the property would be fully occupied. Although we didn't use the pool, it was clean and looked very appealing. We would certainly stay at the Kona Kai again if we travel back to Sanibel Island in the future.
Hello I spent four nights in December at the Kona Kai for a solo trip to sanibel island. I booked my room using AAA best price I found. The vibe is Hawaii and staff super friendly. Megan called me prior to arrival to let me know my room was ready. She explained how to access my room as well as the front desk hours. Throughout my stay she went above and beyond to make the stay pleasant by providing bug spray. My room had 2 queen beds full kitchen refrigerator couch tv and chairs along with outdoor seating. Loved the vibe. Encourage renting a bike and visiting the beaches. Hallmark channel was a bonus considering I visited the luminary weekend
Staff was very friendly And informative of the area, Being my first visit to the island. Gave great suggestions on beaches and where to eat. The property is very nice and quiet. The stay Went well above my expectations and Would definitely stay there again. It’s a little bit far from the beach, The closest beach is about a mile and a half walk. All the other beaches, you have to drive to. But if you’re looking for Great value, A peaceful stay and you don’t mind driving to the beach. I would definitely Recommend staying here.
Excellent stay!! Kona Kai is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Perfectly quiet and private, and less than a 8 min drive from the Lighthouse Beach. It is adjacent to Billy's Rentals where you can rent bikes. And is less than 500 FEET from 7-11 making forgetting my toothbrush a rather minor issue. Thet offered flexible check in and check out times and the staff was wonderful. Our room was freshly renovated and was impressively decorated. We are definitely looking forward to visiting again.
Words cannot describe how gorgeous this hotel is and the hotel grounds are! Everything is so immaculately clean and neat. The pool was perfect and had a deep end which we enjoyed! We loved everything! This is our new home away from home. Cant wait to come back in April! The young woman who checked me in was also very helpful and walked to to show me my room and how to use the key pad to get in!
We came down for a 3 night getaway- we will stay here again! Our room was spacious, clean and had everything in the kitchen area we needed. Property was clean, staff friendly and helpful. This is not a 24/7 staffed motel; but it is located close to restaurants, shopping, Jerry’s and a 7-11.
